The scarf loom is long and narrow. It can come in different sizes and has a big gap in the middle. This type of loom doesn't use the traditional weaving style. Instead it moreso utilised the french knitting style. Once you get started, these looms are relatively easy to use and well as quick in creating scarves or whatever else you are making.
To use this type of loom, you first wrap the cotton around the pegs in a zig zag pattern. You do this again from the other end. Then you wrap the first layer over the second layer. You do this continually until your scarf (or whatever) is finished. Let's have a look to see if it can become a bit clearer. |

When you are using a scarf loom, you don't have to use all of the pegs. You can make the scarf as wide or as narrow as you like (within the confines of the loom you are using).

Tips
Unfortunately, most instruction manuals (better referred to as booklets) that come with weaving looms aren't overly explanative regarding how to use them. For this reason, I would recommend you either access sites such as this or go searching on youtube (or equivalent) to see how other people are doing it. Apart from that happy weaving. |
